Moon Greeting Cards and 100 Wicked Little Witch Stories Giveaway

The first Witches in Fiction event, which celebrated my second year blogging plus “the good, the bad, the magic of creating, and the what-in-the-names-of-Granny-Weatherwax’s-pristine-undies-and-Gandalf’s-crooked-staff-is-that-fictional-witchy-thing?!” was inspired by the photo below. Witch in Jeans is the work of Judy Stearns, an artist whose lens captures images that reflect a soul’s love for the Moon, for Life, for Nature, for Art…
I thought it would be fitting to begin our Witches in Fiction 2014… Crafting Blooming Howls (countdown to the big event) giveaways with art from the woman whose work planted the first party seed in my witchy mind; yep, a lucky Wicked Darling will receive five Moon Greeting Cards, handcrafted by Judy Stearns. If you can’t wait to get your hands on some of these beauties, please contact Judy via her blog.
This giveaway also includes a copy of 100 Wicked Little Witch Stories. I received the book as a gift from a friend, but I already owned the collection… so I’m passing it forward.

    2. *headdesk* So, I came back to look at this and realized that somehow I had missed the mandatory #1 entry thing. Don't ask - it's been a long week. I'm back here to rectify that!

The Moon, Witches, and handcrafted art, you say? One single breath on a cold autumn's eve, where all three naturally flow together, inextricable.

  8. Ouuuu when I think of the moon, witches, and handcrafted art I think of myself and my beautiful sisters under the moon! All artists, some witches, all daughters of our beautiful moon. I am a Wicked Darling because I love to connect with fabulous pagans such as yourself, and I believe you have a fabulous and unique perspective on the world that I love reading. Not to mention your utterly decadent writing. My email address is broomstickandlace@gmail.com

  10. Is there anything more hand-crafted by a witch under a moon, than a good cauldron full of midnight margaritas?! You know I'm all about a boozy lime drink!

Yay for the annual party! Happy kick-off dear Magaly!

  11. (Dang, I tried commenting from my phone this morning. Doesn't seem to have worked. Poo.)

Well when you put it that way... I think of wild-crafting under the full moon, the silver gleam reflecting off skin...

    *ahem*

    So anyway.

I follow you, Magaly, because you inspire me and make me smile, and I need people like that in my life.

  12. Moon + witches + hand-crafted art = F-ing Awesome Blog Party ;)
Visited & liked Judy's Photos ('cause I do they are very cool)
Why do I read your blog??? Well I guess that spell you put on me worked, that I would return and read until old & grey & no longer able to find my bi-focals and with great regret, post my last witty or witless comment in your side-bar by mistake, which of course will never be read & probably just F-up my by then vintage Ipad.

  13. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of witches, the moon and handcrafted objects? Sleepless nights. ^^ (Curses are a close second - how come I never hand-craft for sparkly shiny spells? Better not think about it.)

And I read your blog because I love you! ^^

    1. I believe that if you start hand-crafting sparkly shiny anything, there will be a very long trail of bodies choked by glitter. Just sayin'...

And you are loved right back. ;-D

  14. 1.) When I think of the Moon, I think of a Traveler, changing and adapting fluidly as she goes on her journey, but even through all her changes, she's always herself.
2.) Witches - LOL, I think of myself
2.) Hand crafted arts - I think the best ones are a bridge between the soul of the artist that created it and the soul of the one appreciating it.

  16. Witches+Moon+Handcrafted Art - I think of strong women connected to Nature and each other both now and with our ancestors who were Wise women too. As for Handcrafted art I think of it as the most powerful expression of Witchy souls.
Why do I read your blog? It connects me with someone, across the miles, who shares wholeheartedly what living the life of a Witch is all about - warts and all! ;) Also your writing is freaking awesome and you know how to make a person cackle 'til there ribs hurt :P !

  17. I thought I had already commented on this wonderful giveaway, but apparently not, so here goes:

First of all; what a great kick-off giveaway to your party!
What comes to mind when I think of witches and the moon is always a cottage in the woods, growing moss and dew drops glistening in the moon light, a mysterious smoke and scent coming from the chimney, warm light coming from the windows. A solitary but happy and content witch, keeping herself warm and fed, curled up by the fire and cauldron, knitting, surrounded by furry and feathery familiars.

I follow you because I can see your personality shining through every post. You're a strong and interesting character, the best kind.

  18. When I think of the moon, witches and their crafts/arts, automatically I think of the mother figure. When I started my journey into the craft I felt protected and loved, like when in the arms of our moms. And the moons glow falls down upon me and bathes me in a celestial hug.... <3

  20. Witches, Moon, Handcrafted Art... I think of the Moon card in Tarot, where things are not as they seem, and the lunar light illuminates what we otherwise couldn't see. With creative energy and will, art in a witch's hand does the same.

I shared on Facebook, Twitter, follow Judy's Photos, and I am a Wicked Darling because you are interesting, funny, and a dozen different kinds of inspiring. Also... that smile! :)

Because you are wickedly creative, kind and generous, not afraid to speak your mind, and you know and introduce us to the best people!

Moon, Witches and Handcrafted art bring to mind spirituality and promise. Love and caring. Individulaity.
