Short Grim Bits in April

I’ve never been particularly crazy about the idea of blogging every single day—I like giving readers a day or two to get to a new post. Maybe because I like that for myself. Still, for some reason, this year’s A to Z blogging challenge called to me.

I don’t know what I will do yet. I’ve thought about writing a super-short web serial. What do you think? Whatever I choose to do in the end, you can bet that it will be short, deliciously grim and it will have flowers in it. April is for blooming, isnt it?

  1. YIKES!! 817 people already signed up?? That's just over whelming to me. And if I wanted to join I have NO idea what category to assign to my blog. Is it personal, or lifestyle or??

You always have lots of excitement going on...

    1. It's quite a bit, isn't it? I guess is a good opportunity to see what some people I might never run into otherwise are doing. But I'll try to make it into something very specific to me, as the grim suggests. Hm, maybe we can come up with a subplot to this ginormous madness...

  2. I just read: "...and it will have floaters in it." :)

Like Vickie above, I was also considering joining but then saw that there are nearly 1000 people playing already, and felt totally overwhelmed.

    1. Hahaha! It might, lol!

You know what, after reading your response and Vickie's, I was thinking that maybe a few of us could be together, join, and blog about something similar. I'm still wondering what will happen after your last story *cough* Those of us who choose to join together, could add each others links at the end of our posts... visit each other... just brainstorming here. ;-)

    2. My last story..? Did I write something? I don't remember, but you know - I was taken over by the writing muse last time I was single and alone, so it might be the same come April.

Either way, it sounds like a good idea - were you thinking about hosting something of your own maybe?

    3. You did, indeed! Your "Beauty and the Beast", which you wrote for May Monster Madness. I want to know what freedom will bring.

I will have my spring event, as usual over at Pagan Culture. That will be one day only, probably during the last week of April. So you can save your energies for that *hehehe*. For this insane event, I might just write a very short story, and play with it until reading it in 26 different parts might be fun. It would be a good challenge.

      There are so many possibilities...

  3. April is the cruellest month (according to T S Eliot) with all that rain and sunshine poking things awake, so I think you can be as grim as you like.

But that is a *huge* blog party, more like a blog stadium; I'm afraid I'd find the whole thing overwhelming, with that number of blogs making that number of posts (817 X 26 = (wait for it) 21,242 !!!!). Even at the recommended five a day, counting on my fingers that means it will take four thousand, two hundred and forty eight and a half days to complete.

    So, yeah, count me in.

    1. April and I get along well, so we shall poke things awake and grin at them. ;-D

I will 3-5 blogs a day and leave it at that. Now I shall totally pretend like you didn't make those calculations, or I might poke my own eyes out!

By the time we answer all this, computer technology will be able to visit the blogs and comment telepathically. Yep.

    1. You need to hide in a very shiny place. If you stick to the shadows, all your bright will give you away!

    2. Awe! kind heart! But a last my shiny time has passed, I'm content to listen now! ( did I say that out loud! ) xoxo

  5. I think a mini series would be great, (as would be anything else you put out here on blogland :). I did the A-Z Challenge 4 years ago when I first started blogging. It was so much fun! Enjoy the Challenge!

    1. I'm hoping whatever the muse ends up choosing to do is fun. As of right now, I'm kind of drawing a huge blank, lol!
