I Love You like Morticia Loves Gomez, Mon Cher

I was invited to participate in 14 Nights of Valentine’s Day Movie Marathon, and to share something about my favorite film. Before I finished reading the email, I heard Gomez tell Morticia, “To mirth, to merrymaking, to manslaughter!” She smiled at her beloved; her face shining with love and her hands full of meat cleavers, hammers, butcher knives and bloody adoration. You see, earlier that night, Gomez had gone to Laughing Vixen Lounge:

Morticia and Gomez might be my favorite movie couple. Their love is sweetly lethal.

They often go where none have ever gone before… and always do it again.

Their love is full of spirit… and dancing angels… and silenced demons…

I mean, what’s not to love about this loving couple of their family?

I often tell my Piano Man—okay, so I’ve never said the exact words, but tonight Ill whisper: some say I treasure you like Rose treasured Jack (before the freezing and drowning situation)… or I adore you like Juliet adored Romeo (without that horrid poisoning bit)… but I, mon cher, love you like Morticia loves Gomez. I will even let you touch my hammer…

I know, the sweet loving is overwhelming. Are you teary-eyed and gasping? It happens to me every time. Just take a moment *and breathe* Better now? Great, then fly over to Laughing Vixen Lounge and enter the giveaway. Luck, love and sweet bloody adoration, my Wicked Luvs! ;-)

  1. Aaaaw, you two are true romantics...:P

Morticia and Gomez are most likely the ultimate couple, but Addams Family is one of my all time favorites...and I'm loving Laughing Vixen Lounge as well. ^^

  2. Morticia and Gomez are my favorite movie couple... and if you were to listen in on conversations between my wife and I, you'd hear many, many of those conversations using their lines.

Morticia: Gomez, those are savage animal noises! Make some more! Snarl! Grrrr! Howl! Owoooo! Anything, honey, please!
Gomez: Calm yourself, Tish. I'm just getting warmed up!

  6. I completely agree with you. Most famous love stories are about barely 20-year olds who fall in love at the drop of a hat. Morticia and Gomez's love is truly the everlasting kind. Despite having been married for ages and having two children together, they dress up for each other, they talk, shower each other with affection, dance together, make sweet (and unhinged) love. Now THAT's real romance.

    1. Both Addams Family movies are very fun, and treat some rather serious issues; especially Addams Family Values.
