I’ve switched to Firefox. I used Google Chrome, and was completely faithful, for about five years. I fell for the browser while it was still in its beta form, but these last few days have been a frustrating nightmare. And I’m not the only one. According to CNET, there are many “Chrome users mad at Google for switching up scroll controls.”
The other browsers are just
fine when it comes to scrolling, but I ran into the same issues I had with Chrome
The banishment of the up and down arrows isn’t the only thing wrong with Chrome. As I shopped around for a new browser, I noticed other issues (at least for those of us using Blogger and Windows 7):
- Fonts have lost my customized touches.
- Post titles have blurred.
- When I click “Reply” to a comment, I scroll for the box… Oh, wait, there is no scrolling to speak of. It’s more of a click-drag-and-curse until I find the comment box.
Anyhoo, this is not a
venting post, not really. I’ve always thought that complaining about something
that is virtually free is a tad ridiculous. I’m sharing because many Wicked Darlings,
who are Chrome users, have been having the scrolling problem. Well, it seems
that as of right now, the easiest (and perhaps only) solution is to switch browsers. I tried Opera, Safari, ancient
Explorer and Firefox. I kept the latter because it offers the best results:
sharp text, fine images, fonts as I choose them, and yes, a thick scrollbar and
up and down arrows.

I almost forgot! If you are one of the Wicked Darlings who can’t comment from his or her iPad, you might want to consider adding Opera to your list of browsers. John Large – Technology & life Blog explains why in his article “Problems posting comments on blogger from iOS iPad safari and chrome.”
Read on, my Wicked Luvs. And comment… if you can *cough, cough, cough*.
