All Hallow’s Grim 2013… Giveaway Rules and Updates

I feel like the So Good, So Dark yumminess of this October began with “Dark Silver.” Don’t you think? That tale left me nodding at every person who has ever said that every now and then we need to jump head first into the darkness in order to see the light.

Anyhoo, to the updates… I have two of them:

1. I’ve been feeling kind of crappy about a celebration of what lies beyond, which includes giveaways that exclude people who are just in a different part of the world. So… after hours and hours of brain-smoking thought, I came up with a way to include everyone, methinks. It’s not perfect, but we can make it work. If you are an international reader, check out the Giveaway Rules page and let me know if you would be willing to play. *fingers crossed*

2. This one is more of a reminder. Please leave the links to your All Hallow’s Grim 2013 entries as comments on the original announcement post. Links left on any other posts will be deleted. Having links all over the place confuses me. Also, I’m trying to avoid past issues, such as individuals forgetting to post, failing to tell me about it, and then all of us going to their blogs to find nothing related to the party. Hope that makes sense.

Reaching into Darkness,” the first All Hallow’s Grim 2013 post is up and running. It includes a giveaway from Eliora. The second post will be up in a few hours. The Wickedest of all my Darlings have been adding to the fun since very early. Check out the sidebar for direct links to their posts.

    1. Like my grandma used to say, "Girl Child do you always have to make things difficult?" LOL I can't enter or be recipient to any of the goodies. And Lorelei cannot get her own gift back. Sorry. And Stacy lives in Canada! I'm giggling, right now. I guess I need to clarify some things, huh? CWS

  2. I posted! At least, I have one up on the writing blog. Time's winged chariot will see if I get any posts up elsewhere. October is just too short a month, I think.

    1. It is short indeed, and the parties seem to last only minute. Marfi was very clever to start her celebration in September!

  3. Don't feel crappy Magaly, we 'internationals' know how ridiculous expensive postage can be, even with in the UK it seems to keep going up and up. I love the solution you've come up with. It gives us the fun of entering and the joy of indulging in a RAK if we win. Wasn't around to put a post anything up yesterday but hope to do so later today. Going to go and read the posts that did go up now. :)

    1. Yay! I was hoping for that. My faraway Luvs can't get the gifties, but it's cool to be able to present something nice to a friend who will appreciate it.

  4. Oh, I didn't know there wouldn't be international shipping... but considering the size and weight of that first giveaway it totally makes sense. Too bad, there are always some great prices during your All Hallow's Grim!

Ps. I kept my giveaway small and light to be able to ship anywhere :)

    1. And it's not only the weight, the legalities become an issue, too. Giving away stuff has suddenly become really complicated ;-(

  6. It's such a bummer that shipping rates are out of this world. What this really means is: I need to make more digital products!!! Then there won't be an issues!

    That said, GREAT IDEA!

    1. Right now, I'm just wishing the laws were clearer when it comes to this mess. There are many who are willing to pay the shipping, it's not a burden to them, you know? But then state and federal laws make everything really complicated *sigh*

  9. Here I was sitting thinking it is all you guys on the other side of the earth that were the internationals LOL yep it's a common Oz fault to view things upside down ;) I think that you have come up with the perfect solution for those heavy prizes and those that don't quite make it over the strict quarrantine hurdles, I would get awesome satisfaction regifting any of your objects of desire you have in your treasure chest :)

    1. It's all about the perspective of the one who is on top ;-D

This year, I'm hoping the satisfaction of "regifting" is enough. I will start reading the fine print of the law for next year. I don't like not knowing. Not known sucks rotten butt.
