Crows, Bees, Axes and Hammers

I’ll answer the question before you ask it, “No, my Wicked Luvs, you can never have too many hammers.” You were going to ask that, weren’t you? You were not? Seriously? Oh. I guess my Third Eye needs glasses… Now, *squeals, cackles and even twinkles* say hello to my little can!
The last few days have been full of squeal-worthy surprises. I’ll tell the tale and then I’ll show it. It all began when my Piano Man got me a copy of The Doll People, a beautifully bounded edition of Black Beauty (I wish you could feel the thickness and silkiness of the pages) and Red Riding Hood—he picked the latter because the cover shows a girl running with an axe (He knows me well). There is more… He also got me the prettiest of all water bottles (painted glass with a bamboo lid). I’ve been filling my precious (and refilling it!) with kiwi-infused water, and yum, yum, yum! Fruit makes everything delicious.

Then came Stacy’s box… I won her latest giveaway, which included a wee watering can, and two other goodies. At least, that’s what I thought before the box revealed the rest of its treasures: rhinestones, charms, and an ACEO that made my heart go thump, thump, thump. You see, I was introduced to Magic Love Crow almost three years ago—Stacy had just started blogging. I enjoyed her colors; and when I learned the reason behind her painting, I fell in love with her art. Soon, I’ll use “Madame Crow Butterfly” to convey just what I mean.

When I thought my grin couldn’t get any brighter, a dear friend—who I’ll call Secret Word Giver—made it expand and shimmer. Secret Word Giver presented my reader’s heart with books 1 to 13 of Yasmine Galenorn’s Otherworld Series. Amazing, isn’t it? Yet, the books aren’t the greatest gift. Secret Word Giver fed the books to my Kindle after reading part of a Facebook exchange I had with Jonquil, where I said that I hadn’t read Galenorn’s work. Secret Word Giver included a message that said, “I love books about witches written by Witches. I think you do, too. My witchy heart can hardly wait for the worlds you’ll add to my library.” Still, the compliment was not what made the words special. It was the fact that I’ve known Secret Word Giver for fourteen years, and I’ve waited nearly that long to hear the revelation. Yep, Witches attract…

So… thanks go to my Piano Man,
to my Stacy
and to my old new friend, Secret Word Giver

No, my Wicked Luvs, I have not forgotten the visual tale. Here it is for your pleasure:

First layer of Stacy's box...
...stickers, rhinestones, and I can't believe I forgot the colorful binder clips!
I love Stacy's wrappings, and the charms within ;-)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my can. I had to water the flowers on my shōji *cough, cough*

  1. My sister and I LOVE Galenorn's Otherworld series. I just finished reading book 13 before I got onto blogger and read your post lmao. My first experience with Yasmine Galenorn was when I was 14 and went to the library to look for some witchcraft books and the librarian handed me "Embracing the Moon" and it was the first Pagan book I ever read. It made an impact on me to say the least. I hope you enjoy her books. She also has another series "The Indigo Court" series. I haven't gotten past the first book but my sister loves it too =)

    3. Oooh, I'm going to check it out. It would be cool to read about her personal practices before reading her fiction. Just to see if it leaks into it...

  8. Actually I wasn't thinking of hammers Magaly, although I think wondering how many is enough is a valid question, I was thinking about my saw. Which belonged to my great Uncle George. Wondering how I would go about getting it sharpened - but anyway, you were close! I love your gifts and my, that watering can is lovely!! And the piano man is a good man, isn't he???
