Touched by Alchemy and Ashes

“You’ve got small box in the mail,” my Piano Man said. “I don’t know what it is, but it smells really good.”

*sniff* Anise! *sniff* Patchouli! *sniff* Orange? Oh my freaking gods, I was blessed with a box of cold process soaps from Alchemy & Ashes! I sniffed and sniffed for a shamefully long time. I wanted each scent on my skin right away. But… I had a piece of writing that was due the next day, so I just set a bar of Dark Alchemy next to me, and wrote on while totally high on its yumminess.
When I was done writing, I spent some time picking a shower mate—that proved to be tougher than anyone might think. After long minutes of serious deliberating, intense fondling, and much consulting with my Piano Man (who I’m sure was laughing at me), I chose to be touched by Gypsy Fortune Teller
Seconds later, my bathroom was full of “red sandalwood powder and rose clay… sweet orange, jasmine, lavender, ylang ylang, patchouli, amyris” and Magaly giggles. This soap is a perfect combination of silkiness and exfoliating power.

My Gypsy Fortune Teller brought home a couple of friends: French Quarter Voodoo (we haven’t had the pleasure yet, so I’ll have to tell you about its caresses later) and Dark Alchemy, the latter hovers (not so dormant) above my writing space. I’ve been using a Hand Crocheted Soap Saver Drawstring Pouch, also from Alchemy & Ashes, as a diffuser. It works as charm.
Now my writing space (okay, the entire room) is rich with the scents of anise, patchouli and lavender.
Words of the soapy magic reached me after the end of Witches in Fiction 2013… to the Bone. I mean, I researched the shop, so I had a feeling it was good. Then I got emails from friends who purchased soap during the party. They spoke of love at first bath, and I wanted to buy some. But guess what? The owner of Alchemy & Ashes surprised me before I could. Thank you, Shawnee.

Visit Alchemy & Ashes, and take some soapy magic into your own shower. If feels sooo good... ;-)

  13. Yes. It was all her fault, the pizza, the icecream, and the icecream again a little later! I knew you would understand!

    1. I just giggled, thinking that "a lovely smelly time" in the bathroom is not the same as "a lovely scented time" in the bathroom," but they both go for the nose. Yep, I easily amuse myself lol
