Miniature Witch Traveling Trunk

Once upon a time—okay, last year—I was searching for miniature books. The cyber excursion took me to Gothic Miniatures, and I stayed there for a long, long, long while. It was lust for miniatures at first click. I started dreaming of witchy dollhouses and other places I could furnish with all the deliciously uncanny bits I found at the shop.

I related my newly found feelings to the shop owner, and she was as excited as I was. So much so, that she agreed to sponsor Witches in Fiction 2013… to the Bone’s third giveaway:

Miniature Witch Traveling Trunk
- Potion Bottles
- Leather Spell Book
- Crystal Ball
- Spider Web Shawl
- Witch Hat
- Broom

Here is what you need to do, to fly away with your own Witch Traveling Trunk:
Leave a comment listing the items you would pack in your perfect traveling trunk

- Read the excerpt of “AlmaMia Cienfuegos,” over at my writing site (if you haven’t read it already), and let me know what you believe would be an essential item in little AlmaMia’s traveling trunk, and why (two entries).

  2. The perfect I item I would pack in my trunk would have to be books of all kinds.

I looked through the entire site and I don't know why exactly but I love these tiny melted candles http://www.etsy.com/listing/101828773/orange-dripping-dollhouse-candles?ref=shop_home_active

If AlmaMia is traveling with her family she will be needing lots of healing herbs.

  4. Oh, and AlmaMia should definitely keep some of Mamabuela's arnica oil handy. She seems like the type to gather bruises she'd rather not explain, with or without Soledad's help!

Hmm, what would I pack if I were to fly away... Am I traveling or leaving..?
Traveling: I suffer from low blood sugar if I don't eat regularly, so I would pack fruit, soda and sandwiches to tie me over. Music and books.
Leaving: Boots made for walking, dresses made for picking up guys ;)

  10. I'm only supposed to pick one?? How the heck do I DO that? Ok the Skeleton Trunk sitting sideways just totally fits with the theme of Bones, so I'm going with that, but I can TOTALLY see why you spent a long time there. Her work is fantastic!

Shit, after that? I'd give her more words to use with the same wit. ;) I don't know how you'd fit words into a trunk, but I'm sure she could make something work. Maybe something big enough to fit Matías? Ha!

  18. Hi Magaly,

The mini traveling trunk is wonderful!
The perfect traveling trunk items I would need would include: several white candles, matches, a basic herb set, A mini traveling BOS, pencils, several slips of parchment paper, a hanky sized green scarf for a small altar cover, one of my owl's feathers, stick of incense ( I prefer sage or cedar), a piece of quartz, a sea shell and any nature element that spirit leaves in my path at the time. Those are the items I can think of just off the top of my head. I'll have to think on these things to see if any more items pop into my head.
I'll head on over to Gothic Miniatures to see what appeals to my soul.

I admit it I need some help. I am not all that computer savvy. When I went to link my Bone poetry post per your instructions, I was informed that the link already existed. But apparently not. What am I not doing correctly?
    Any instructions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

And my brain, I can't forget that! :P Which would be in my hat, probably. :P

My favorite item at Gothic Miniatures is the Tree of Life Spellbook! That suits me nicely! http://www.etsy.com/listing/116555716/tree-of-life-spell-book-dark-red?ref=shop_home_active

  30. AlmaMia is a strong girl, a fighter and her soul is filled with love, she is carefree. I think she needs a big piece of black onyx in her trunk! Onyx is an excellent stone for initiating the modes of centering and alignment of the total person with the high powers. It can be used to banish grief, to enhance self-control, to stimulate the power of wise decision-making and to encourage happiness and good fortune. It helps one to absorb, from the universe, those energies which are needed. The black color will protect her too ;o) So with this stone, she can kick ass ;o)

Well I rarely leave home...but if I did I would want my goddess triptych from my alter, some dried rosemary /holly/ivy leaves I use for protection spells(all from my garden), my velvety purple geode(for gathering healing energy)..aaaaaaand one of the ammonites I've collected from beaches over the years, which I keep for grounding, and as a reminder that we are all "from the Earth and to the Earth we return". ReplyDelete
  39. For my trunk I would need my Goddess statue, candles, incense in several different flavors (my daughter HATES when I call them flavors lol), my carved stone dragons, my pentacle of course, salt, and my crystals/wire/tools for making charms and amulets. :) it will need to be a large trunk i think.
It was nearly impossible to pick ONE fave at Gothic Miniatures! I settled on Tree of Life Spell Book Dark Red which I would actually attach to a necklace and wear it everywhere. I would likely make myself some matching earrings with paper beads hiding runes inside and Tree of Life charms.
AlmaMia needs a jar to catch her tears in her trunk. She can then use them to power her spells AND to give herself strength to not only make it through but to learn from the bad examples of her mother and sister...watch how miserable they are and learn that living well is the best revenge.
