Mad Hatter Tea for the Birds

I skipped spring…

Fine, skipping spring would be somewhat impossible, but I did set up my summer altar a season earlier. I was unpacking, a few days after my little brother’s funeral, and my thoughts were floating so far away from the action at hand that I brought out The Mother and The Wild God instead of The Maiden and The Young God. And I didn’t notice for hours… When I did, I burst into laughter, sobs, and then more laugher.

I’m not sure why I skipped spring, but I’m leaving my summery theme up. I don’t believe in accidents, so instead of asking Summer to wait, and give Spring her proper face time, I’m inviting my two favorite seasons to dance together. I might need their combined strength in order to deal with the chaos the universe keeps on hurling my way. In any case, they look good together. I will show you soon…

Speaking of beautifully strong things that look and feel good together, have you read the 2013 spring issue of Pagan Living? I have been enjoying its soothing and inspiring brightness. In fact, this issue is blooming with inspiration: page 21 shows last year’s inspiring Pagans (I was inspiring in the summer issue *cough, cough*), and on page 20 you will see how to nominate your own inspirational witchy souls for 2013.

I devoured the entire spring issue, and took extra time savoring Jen’s gardening tips, Mina writing “For the Birds,” Sharon’s brilliant designs, and Shannon Lavorn chanting as the “[...] the spiral dance of life begins anew.”
I’ve been in love with Vanessa Valencia’s Mad Hatter Tea Parties for ages…
This issue of Pagan Living looks like spring in a basket, doesn’t it?
Happy” by Magic Love Crow
I was given a lovely rock cress about a week ago. Her purple flowers mimic the colors in Stacy’s painting.
I named the plant Happy before seeing the painting above. I’m taking the whole thing as a good omen.
Even if I kind of skipped spring, its warmth will continue to bloom around me and mine ;-)
Happy Spring Equino2013, my Wicked Luvs!

I love Vanessa Valencia's Mad Tea Parties too... They're the highlight of my Summer. ^-^
I'm pretty sure that Spring won't mind too terribly much sharing some space with Summer... Especially since the Winter seemed especially cold & long this year. ^-^

Off to peek through Pagan Living for myself now...

    XOXO

    1. Vanessa knows how spin a fanciful twist, doesn't she?

I'm right with you, Spring will probably like her stay with Summer; especially if they get to stick it to Winter ;-)

  6. As a matter of curiosity, is the Universe still hurtling chaos in your general direction?

    1. Every time I think I will be allowed to take a breath, someone reminds me that for every decent person born, the world poops out at least 12 idiots who would do their best to make every one else's lives difficult. But it's the nature of the wild beast, right? And my nature is to try to coexist with it, for taming it would be unnatural. If the taming doesn't work. Well, then there is Darwin and a bit about survival... fittest... and general common sense.

  8. I was thinking about you when I awoke this morning. Wondering if the tsunami of people's stupidity had receded from you life. I certainly hope it has enough for you to dance inspite of them (or on them if you get the chance).
Skipping over spring and moving on to summer sounds like a plan to me. The two are both full of promise.....so why not?
Been working on my story...I'm in love again with the tale. Been working on my arting...I'm in love with the process. Been working on being in the moment.....not working but what the hell. Much love, Oma Linda

  10. I don't believe in coincidence either ... it would be almost impossible for you to "feel" rebirth at such a sad time for you, so the universe has told you to focus on a future time of contentment and maturity :) <3...*wants that Hatter's hat!!!* XXX

    1. Well, for now I will enjoy the spring snow. Yep, we got snow the day before yesterday and we are supposed to get some more today. Old Man Winter refuses to give up.

No apologies needed. I hope you are having fun planning your trip home. And enjoying India's warm days ;-)

  13. I love the idea of Spring & Summer dancing together! The heat from Summer will give Spring the extra help she needs to push out her blooms this year. Thank you so much for sharing Pagan Living! I've never seen it before (yes, I've been living under, or rather, on a rock...in the ocean). It does, indeed, look like Spring time. Warm Blessings to you & yours.
