The More I Clean... Pre-All Hallow’s Eve Blog Cleansing Part II

Have you ever been cleaning your home and figured out that the more you clean, the dirtier everything seems? If you are nodding like a maniac, then you know exactly how I feel during my Pre-All Hallow’s Eve Blog Cleansing. Oh my freaking gods! Who has been adding all these insanely superfluous labels to my posts? It couldn’t have been me; no! I would have had enough common sense to know that I didn’t have to tag a post as Short Story, Short Stories, Short Fiction, Dark Short Fiction, Flash Fiction, FridayFlash, #FridayFlash, FlashFriday… and who knows what else, just to inform your Wicked Darling selves that I wrote a bit of fiction!

Someone, PLEASE, cyber-smack me!

So yes, I’m cleaning and laughing at my lack of blogging common sense—it’s a bit scary really. But I’m smiling too, for I’ve also discovered all kinds of good things! Here are a few examples:
- I understand my witchy self, WAY better, after two years of blogging.
- I’ve noticed that my loyal Wicked Darlings don’t run for dear life whenever I change things around—sometimes (okay, most of the time) without giving any warning.
- I’ve realized that I tend to get bored of slow features, and so do you, which might explain why we all seem happy whenever I change things around without warning *grin*.
- I need to do some serious label/tag damage control *grimace*.
- I need to come up with a consolidated Giveaway Rules, Book Reviews Guidance, Winning… page; things are kind of scattered right now, so I find myself having to explain the same things over and over.

I have about 4 months to straighten things up around Pagan Culture, and I’m enjoying the messy process; life is good. I mean, have you checked out the first part of my Pre-All Hallow’s Eve Blog Cleansing? Things have come a long way!

What have you been up to my Wicked Darlings?

And on a side note that should probably be a series of never-ending posts, I want to say THANKS! My life has been a bit crazy these last few weeks, but your sweet presence reminds me things are way better when I hold on to my sanity—you, my luvs, ROCK!

The image for this post was snatched from Practical Magic Cleaning. I have no idea who they are, but the purplish witch with the broom was too cute not to borrow.

  1. Isn't the purple witch just a purple version of the green witch from "Wicked" lol?

  2. Yep, I know how things get messier before they get cleaner. Have fun! :)

  3. My cleaning process at home is like this:

I get annoyed, dump EVERYTHING in the middle of the room and start sorting through it. Until I get bored and stuff the rest back where no one can see it. ^^

  4. There must be something in the air. The experiment with one blog didn't work, so I've got back to how I was, revived a couple of oldies and created a couple more. Witchery Grove will be changing direction slowly.

Blog cleaning is a bit like the home, you always get left with some things you don't want to part with but you think, now what do I do with these.

Have fun Magaly dear, as we discover ourselves more it's natural to change our surroundings to match.

  5. Zombie Goddess - Can't hide a damn thing from you, huh? lol Just kidding. I had the same thought when I saw this pic "Hm" I told myself. "It seems the Wicked witch got some purple color and a cute little broom." It kind of put me in the mood for rearranging things on my blog; I tend to move things around, 'recolor' them, and in the end is kind of the same thing, but different ;-)

    Sarita - Indeed!

Diandra - You must be related to The Princes lol. She loves dumping all her toys, rearranging them to an order only she understands, and then stuffing whatever she can't categorize (or is too bored to get too) in little baggies ;-D

Dragonfly - On one of my older posts you said something about me describing exactly what you wanted to say about a particular issue. I must said, your comment has done the exact same for me. Gracias!

  6. I was too busy this weekend to even think about blogging...cleaning house and motorcycling keep me out of trouble...

  7. You made me think I should probably START tagging my posts...usually I ignore that part. But my blog is growing...slowly...but still growing. I need to get organized. lol

  8. Reading your blogging house cleaning made me feel so anxious as my ADD is all over the place, but I love how concise and well...organized you are. I would love to see more "blogging" housecleaning posts by all of us. Fortunately on Wordpress, I don't have to do as much "cleaning" as the plugins do most of the hard work for me. There is a real art to blogging and paying attention to our virtual house is just as important as tending to our physical house..Great ideas, Magaly!

I'm in the process of starting a new blog, which means starting from scratch, but on my blog I have up, I'm redoing my blog roll which is taking up my day to day cleaning..Definitely by Samhain, I'd say even Lammas (we'll see ; ) I'll have mine up and rolling.

  9. Me? Up to a whole lot of nothing except getting involved with a gaming protest, and watching a trial on TV. I've learned some things from both.

And why would we run away? Heck , you're one of the only people keeping me grounded.:)

  10. Oh I love the purple witch! LMAO over your fiction tags...I just realized I have done something similar with my own tags a few weeks ago. No cyber smacks for you though. Only cyber hugs and laughter from my toes.

I love it when you change things without notice as it keeps me on my toes! And when you say we Wicked Darlings rock, you are looking into a huge mirror. Hugs to you, sweet Magaly.

  11. I have no idea how to even do tags..I am so blogger illiterate, lol. I need to do some cleaning at Lost in Astral Space, it's getting a mite dusty over there. I can't wait to see where you take this. You never do the usual thing it's nice to watch your spontaneity.

  12. Judy - I just had a nice flash of you (hair flying in the wind) riding a motorcycle ;-)

Lilac - Yep, I think tagging is a good idea to give us (your addicted readers) some direction. Unless you do the thing a particular Witch did and over-tag stuff until you leave yourself looking all over the place lol

Wendy - You are too sweet! And you know what? Blogger is very good about the labels (it keeps them for me). I'm just always too much in a hurry and instead of paying attention to the auto complete, I just type and new tag and continue flying on the keyboard (bad, bad Magaly lol). Mm, can't wait to see what the new blog is about...

LJ - You just made me grin ;-) I promise to continue cultivating the craziness within, for now I know it keeps you grounded ;-D and I'm on my way to your blog to see what's up; a gaming protest sounds exciting!

Mina - Dearest luv, you can count on me to keep you on your toes though--I don't think I can have it any other way. I love changing things around all the time. Sometimes I wonder how my muse does it, but she is focused enough to keep my fiction writing on track; very weird. Tell your toes that I love it when they laugh ;-D

The Traveler - Lovely! I promise to keep you, too, on your toes with my erratic blogging ways. And to be honest, it keeps me interested too. Tagging is quite simple. You know what? When I'm on the process of fixing my labels/tags, I'll write a story about tagging instruction. I just thought of the main character... she is sitting on a broomstick ;-D

  15. Oh boy can I relate to the cleaning thing! My blog is too small still but when I got home from my insane driving trip to see my mom , all I wanted to do was clean. Calm the nerves maybe? LOL! I cleaned out my closets and took four big bags to the thrift store and it felt soooooo good!!!Magaly your blog is wonderful, clean or cluttered, I feel at home here!!! Deb

  16. Vanessa - I'm glad you like ;-)

    MagicLoveCrow - Hooray!

Deb - You made me all warm inside. And I sooo understand cleaning to let out frustration and calm the nerves. I visited my mother yesterday. I got home with the worse back pain. My Piano Man and I has some cleaning to do, and he said that I should rest and he would do it all, I kissed them because my lover is amazing, but I told him that I would clean anyway; the cleaning and rearranging makes me forget about the things I can't change no matter how hard I try.
