Meet these Witches: Arianwen and Greta, from An Axe Age

Arianwen – Daughter of the Princess of the Prophecy and born close to the Otherworld, Arianwen is able to see beings and entities that not only live on different planes but also exist in myth and are rarely seen by mortals.  Being this close to the magick and powers of otherworldly creatures and able to communicate with Valkyries and gods, Arianwen develops the ability to manipulate the elements of earth, air, water and fire.  She has also been given the gift of foresight, and her psychic abilities enable her to prepare for events that have yet to take place.  Arianwen finds it increasingly difficult to be a part of this world.

Greta – Sister to the Princess of the Prophecy, Aunt to Arianwen and daughter of the legendary Rhys and Andrea, Greta finds her powers lie in the ability to heal and the magic of plants and herbs to draw poisons from the body.  As her medical knowledge grows, she becomes more in tune with the rhythms of nature and begins to notice the powers of not only plants but of stones and crystals.  She has also gained the gift of foresight but doesn’t find this ability a burden in the way that Arianwen does.  She is more secretive than distant and resembles the Tuatha da Dannan in their mysteriousness.

Arianwen and Greta possess remarkable gifts, don’t they? Five lucky Wicked Darlings will have the chance to learn more about those gifts. The winners of these giveaway will received a signed copy of An Axe Age, book four of The Sybil Prophesy by Delaney Carpenter.

Blurb: Arianwen, the only daughter of Maeve and Rhain, has been hunted by creatures of the Otherworld since she was born.  Haunted by an amazing gift of being able to see and communicate with spirits and mythical creatures, Arianwen goes on a quest to learn to master the power to command the elements.  However, her complacent attitude to frivolous romantic pursuits gives evil a door to the destruction of Sarcia.

Rhys and Hadrian, Arianwen’s twin brothers, spend most of their lives on one grand adventure after another.  Although Hadrian understands his brother shares a gift similar to that of his sister, he has no idea to what extent.  Tortured by knowledge only he has been given, Rhys’ destiny plays an integral part in the salvation of Sarcia.

  13. I like the artwork on A Wolf Age best - it's very well done, and there's something interesting going on with the facial expressions and where the blond one is looking that makes me wonder what's up.

  15. Dear Me, I’ve Realized... that for all the times I've grumbled about getting older, there are great advantages to being a Crone, and I wouldn't trade my years and experience for anything.
