Gaia

This was supposed to be yesterday’s post, but… I was, um… busy… You see, you should never, ever, ever, ever get in bed with a sexy guy and, um... pretend you’ll just nap for a bit. Oh heck, just blame it on my Piano Man! I’m a Witch for goodness’ sake; and in the spring, with Beltane around the corner. Can anyone really expect me to look at that sexy smile and that… yes that! and not react accordingly? Exactly! So stuff happened, I passed out, and Gaia’s fertility festival was celebrated before her birthday. But today is for Gaia, the Earth Mother... in Captain Planet and The Planeteers.
I thought about forgetting about this post because it was late, but I couldn’t. I love Gaia. I used to cry when poor Captain Planet was covered in pollutants, and then smile when The Planeteers used Gaia’s rings with the power of fire, water, earth, air and heart to save the day (elemental magic anyone?). My favorite part of any episode was whenever Captain Planet was dipped in shit—my English is just fine, I meant to write dipped in shit—and Gaia would come, do some cleansing magic and save the day.

What is that, die hard Captain Planet fans? Gaia is not a witch you say? Ah, but she is; being a witch has nothing to do with what others label you. It is about how you live and what you do. Witches care about the planet that birthed them. Witches work with Nature and not against her. Witches come out of seclusion to save the flashy superheroes when they find themselves in deep shit, or in the case of Captain Planet, dipped in it.

  5. I love Capt planet, so wish they would show it now for the kiddies. I really loved that she was a black woman, as there weren't too many cartoon characters that looked like me, and that she had magical powers?? too freaking sweet!!
