Book Reviews Update: Kindle eBooks, text-to-speech Enabled

Edited January 2013 - I no longer accept unsolicited books to review.

I am thrilled by the amount of book review requests I’ve received in the last two weeks—16! It hurts so much to turn down nearly 90 percent of the goodness. I just don’t have that kind of time for reading, and I’ll hate for you to have to wait forever to get my wonderful-never-wrong thoughts on your work (I’m an Aries, in case you were wondering, and my Horrorscope says, well... just read it).

But there is hope, my Wicked Darlings. I have a very long daily commute. I use that time to read or to people watch—both extremely entertaining, and sometimes unbelievably scary, experiences. I usually finish a Kindle ebook (text-to-speech enabled) in a two to three days. The speed comes from the fact that I can read while I’m in the bus, ferry or train, and listen while I’m walking.

So… if you have adult and young adult ebooks (preferably urban fantasy, paranormal romance or dark fantasy) in Kindle (text-to-speech enabled) format, follow my How to Request a Book Review guidelines, and I might be reading and reviewing you soon!

How much time do you have for reading these days? And what are you currently reading for fun, my Wicked Darlings?

I’m reading Magician of Oz by James C. Wallace II, and Shadow Demon of Oz is next. Enter The Royal Magician of Oz Trilogy giveaway, you can win the two books I just mentioned, and Family of Oz too!

  1. Thanks for your enthusiastic forgiveness of my lack of time manage skills. What a mess I am....I got so excited I lost track of time.
Thanks for being and understanding soul as should be the folks who want you to be able to read all of everything...not gonna happen.

I should have realized that you are an

  2. Aries rule! At least we know we do,other people just have to accept it. And shake their heads and sigh a lot ;-)

  3. My sister is an Aries! I should have realized you were too with the big ovary thing. ;-)

I have always been awed by her ability to just go after whatever she wants. Even after all these years she is still my hero.

  4. That is something so sweet to say about your sister. I bet she loves you to pieces. I feel the same way about my daddy. He is not the go getter; not generally, but when it has to do with providing for his kids and making me feel special, my Papi is unstoppable. Definitely my hero!

  5. Thank you so much for your input! I don't think I could ever afford to self-publish. I just like doing my own cover art when the mood strikes me for a certain story. If it's kept so be it, if not oh well lol

hmmm Usually it's an idea more than a character, but I have definitely had a character speak to me first. Sometimes it's a certain race I want to write about, or just an over all feeling. For Allumineria it was the Faeries that started it, and the idea grew from there :D I have the first chapter done, but need to edit, then shall be posting up :D

  6. Lol - my reading is certainly not Pagan Fiction at the moment. Just finished 'No Way Down' by Graham Bowley and before that it was 'The Grand Design' by Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow!

  7. Magaly, I would be a blithering idiot if it weren't for you! I've had a Kindle since Xmas time and had NO IDEA there was a text-to-speech feature. /snicker LOL me.

How much time do I have to read? A lot more, now, thanks to you! <3!

  8. Currently I'm reading some of the Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton. It's not really pagan fiction, but there is something magical about these books!

  9. Lilac SilverFox - Glad it was helpful.

Rachel - The Grand Design sounds interesting...

LJ - I remember your I-really-hate-my-Kindle post and I told you it was a gem. The Kindle guy's voice is a bit robotic, but it will make you crack up (it drives me to wild laugher). He can't pronounce things like "Yeah" and the way he says it it hilarious!
